We had a family lunch at Patina.
The coffee was good. I ordered charred beef ribs and Crème Brûlée for dessert. The ribs were delicious and perfectly cooked. The 4 star for the food is because they used a sweet sauce for the ribs that did not allow me to savour the beef. I would have enjoyed more my main course without any sauce that masked the flavor of the well cooked ribs.
The service was professional and attentive.
I liked the outdoor seating along a quite street with nice views over the Wahroonga Park.
Delicious food for lunch. Yummy cake and nice coffee. Customer service is great. Nice and quiet area! Scallops has great Thai flavour. Atlantic Salmon cooked to perfection. Everything we have ordered is delicious
The place is extremely nice but the coffee and the food is not good at all…. I was very disappointed (I had the stake sandwich and my friend the burger). Please change your Coffee brand.

The caramel onions in the steak sandwich had too much sugar, making it too sweet and impossible to taste the meat. I was expecting the Sourdough bread to be toasted (as a regular toast), but it was like a compressed sandwich pressed in the toasted machine full of oil on both sides (my first reaction was like the cheesy sandwich). The burger bun was too big (too much bread) and had too many pickles, with onion jam taking all the flavour. The coffee was too milky with no taste. There was a combination of the barista skills and the quality of the coffee. I highly recommend exploring other brands such as Campos or Toby’s Estate Café, etc. A good benchmark for you (you have probably done it) is to visit Pottery Green, Evolve Cafe, etc. Try their coffee, steak sandwiches and burgers. I hope this helps. Thanks
They have a great range of light cafe meals for breakfast and lunch, and also serve dinner in the evenings. Food and drinks arrived quickly. The seared scallops were exquisite in taste yet not quite enough to fill us up so the side of roasted pumpkin and cauliflower with cashews was perfect to even it out. The poke bowl had lots of great options rolled into one and their coffee and chai latte were deliciously foamy and served in glass which kept them hot.
The cafe is in a prime location of Wahroonga near the park. However the staff are far from friendly. They don’t greet you with a smile, like they don’t care and the coffee is also quite expensive compared to other places.
Definitely will avoid this café going forward.
We really enjoyed the Paella night. The food was fabulous and the sangria hit the spot. Would definitely recommend
Cafe Patina in Wahroonga is a gem! With its warm ambiance and attentive staff, it's the perfect spot to relax. The service is top-notch, making your dining experience truly enjoyable.
I have dined at Cafe Patina three times, each time for lunch. I have enjoyed it immensely. Today I took my 98 year old friend with me. She uses a walker as her mobility has declined greatly. While the staff were all extremely lovely, it was a shock to learn that the toilets are located downstairs at the rear of the premises. We were told that due to the building's Heritage Listing status, the toilet access can't be modified. My friend is unable to walk up and down stairs and had to walk to the public toilets in the park opposite. This was a considerable distance for her, particularly in 31 degree heat. This is the only negative I have about the dining experience. There absolutely needs to be toilet facilities for mobility impaired patrons. I am stunned that patrons in a wheelchair or using walking aids are required to leave the premises to use toilet facilities. I don't have the answers to Heritage Listed issues but it's a major problem and draw back. Sadly, we will not be returning.
